
Common Ground
A Hampden, Baltimore institution, the iconic Common Ground coffee shop and bakery had outgrown their previous space on “the Avenue” that they occupied for the last 20 years, and were moving less than a block away, to a much larger and more visible location.
During the transition, they wanted to refresh and update their brand for their 2.0 relaunch. I created a new brand and visual system with the aim of sticking to their DIY style while updating it for a more modern sensibility and retaining that homegrown, not-so-perfect style with a new hand-made style logo, a warm, earthy color palette, natural textures, and custom hand-drawn lettering.
